Surf issues

The most common injuries we see in surfers are overuse injuries leading to pain in shoulders, neck, lower back, and knees. Acupuncture can help decrease pain in all these areas as well as help recovery by improved blood circulation to muscles, tendons, ligaments, and joints. It can also improve energy levels as well as sleep and mental focus. Regular surfers can often suffer from:


1. Inflammation

2. Pain

3. Muscle spasm

4. Loss of mobility

5. Common cold

6. Urinary tract infection


Acupuncture may be combined with additional methods such as cupping - an awesome treatment where glass or plastic cups are placed on the skin usually over the muscles of the back, shoulders, and neck. The suction separates the muscle and fascia layers underneath and draws blood to the surface. This action helps break up knots, improves circulation, and draws toxins and cellular debris back into circulation so that they can be flushed out. It is beneficial to all surfers and should be done on a regular basis.
