Diagnostics in Traditional Chinese medicine

In Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), external symptoms are the manifestation of internal imbalances. Therefore, TCM has its own unique diagnostic methods: observation, auscultation, interrogation and pulse taking, which are employed to collect and analyse clinical information and diagnose diseases.

☯️ Observation: the entire body, complexion, body shape, posture, movement, and vitality, including the most important part - tongue diagnosis (in TCM, the surface of the tongue corresponds to particular organs and can reveal a lot about a particular disease)

☯️ Auscultation: voice, tone, and sound of respiration or cough

☯️ Interrogation: main concerns or complaints, the onset and duration of the problem, relevant medical history, and symptoms

☯️ Pulse taking: feeling and evaluating the pulse in the wrist area
