Looking for a spring detox but slightly lost in all the different recommendations?
Get back to basics and be gentle to your body. Often we opt for big gestures - harsh diets, a few days on juices only or fasting. Unfortunately, without proper context we actually end up stressing or even harming our bodies instead of cleaning them.
Try this simple Ayurvedic approach and have clean week with a couple of days on a mono diet (eating only a delicious cleaning Kitchari).
2 days prep (no sugar, dairy, meat, raw, alcohol, coffein)
2-3 days mono diet (Kitchari accompanied by drinking K2F tea)
2 days comeback (same as prep days)
Kitchari recipe:
1 cup white basmati rice
½ cup organic yellow split mung dal
1-2 carrots (grated or chopped into small pieces) - optional
4 cups water
3 tablespoons ghee
1 teaspoon black mustard seeds
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
1 teaspoon turmeric
1 teaspoon ground cumin
½ teaspoon sea salt
Roast the mustard and cumin seeds with ghee, then add carrot and roast together it for a bit. Add rice, beans, salt ground cumin and turmeric, mix with water and cook covered until all the water absorbs. Serve with a bit of ghee according to your taste ;-)
K2F tea:
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
1 teaspoon coriander seeds
1 teaspoon fennel seeds
cook in 300 ml water for 5 minutes
