Pear porridge for a dry cough

Are you fighting a long persistent dry cough? This easy recipe may help you overcome the remaining symptoms after you thought you’re done with your flu. [WARNING – this is not a recipe for a productive, wet cough that brings up phlegm!!!]

Pears have a wonderful ability to nourish the Yin of our lungs, which is exactly what we miss after a long exhausting coughing.

Grate two pears, add ground cinnamon and a little bit of water and boil everything for 5-10 min until it becomes soft. You can eat a couple of tablespoons every day or use it as a base for your morning porridge.

Ingredients for 2 portions:

·  2 pre-cooked pears (see above)

·  2tsp of ground cinnamon

·  oat flakes (or millet flakes)

·  2tbsp of desiccated coconut

·  2tbsp of any favourite seeds (chia, black sesame, ground flax seed)

·  vegetable milk

Add everything to a pot and cook until the flakes soften.
