Winter dietetics

The basic rule for winter is to nourish Qi, Yang and blood according to TCM. ☯️ Therefore you should focus on cooked meals, especially bone broth, baked meals and in general more protein (from meat, eggs, legumes).🍲


It’s obvious that on the other hand we should abstain from cold food, not only everything that comes straight from the fridge but also everything that has a cooling effect (such as tropical fruits - banana, kiwi, citruses, avocado, etc.).❄️


When looking for a snack, go for walnuts, chestnuts or sunflower seeds and especially in winter feel free to roast all your favourite nuts and seeds (don’t add any oil when roasting them on a pan).🐿️


From spices choose any of the warming treasures: ginger, nutmeg, coriander, cardamom, curry, turmeric, pepper, cinnamon, star anise, rosemary or clove.🔥


Since winter is associated with the element of water, which is associated with kidneys and black color, anything that has a similar color or shape counts as well – black sesame, poppy seeds, black beans... (nope, black beer doesn’t count).🖤
