PUMPKIN PORRIDGE WITH HOMEMADE "GRANOLA"

Why should you always favour warm breakfast over a cold one?šŸ”„šŸ›šŸ”„

The age-old saying in TCM philosophy says, ā€œeat like a king at breakfast, like a prince at lunch, and dinner like a pauperā€. šŸ‘‘

As mentioned previously, the most important principle in Chinese medicine to ensure the health of your digestive system is the intake of warm or previously cooked food and drink. But if there is one meal of your day that should definitely be warm, itā€™s the breakfast.

šŸ¤“šŸ½ļø

Breakfast is not a meal that you eat early in the morning ā€“ it is the very first meal of the day which makes you ā€œbreak the fastā€ (regardless of the time). This meal's primary purpose is to provide essential fuel for your body, igniting the inner fire that runs all the bodily functions, so you donā€™t want to hinder this vital process, right? ā˜Æļø

Imagine you wake up in a cold house and want to set up the fireā€¦šŸŖµšŸ”„ it slowly starts to radiate comforting warmthā€¦ but suddenly, there you go and pour fresh orange juice or yogurt on it šŸ˜± Oooops!šŸ˜… Not only that these two examples come straight from your fridge, but they are also cooling in their nature.ā„ļø If you want to start the system properly, go for a porridge or soup. šŸ„£
