Tsampa! When the simplest is the best š«
Tsampa is a meal made out of roasted barley flour. In Tibet they mix it with tea and butter (I can imagine your face now š¤Ŗ). I personally add it to other porridges or make it plain with a bit of butter and cinnamon. š„£ I fell in love with Tsampa in Nepal and I simply love the smell of the barley getting roasted. šļø It's super easy to prepare and there are many ways to serve it.
You just need to roast the barley on a pan, then cool it down and grind (or use a blender) to get a flour-like powder. To prepare the porridge mix it with hot water, (vegetable) milk or a combination of both and cook for a little bit, as it gets thicker and thicker. Add your favourite spices (cinnamon, cardamom), serve with roasted apple or banana and a bit of butter š You will love it especially on colder days.
