Warm salad? Why?! Let’s call it digestive advantage!
Even during the summertime, which typically celebrates refreshing salads, choosing warm, cooked vegetables (whether steamed, baked, stir-fried, or otherwise prepared) over raw ones means great benefits to your digestive system. Why?🥕🥒🌶🥦🍆
The reason is simple, our body and its vital energy (Qi) that runs the whole system, is warm. When we align our food temperature with this internal warmth, we ease the burden on our digestive system. This means, we conserve vital energy, making it available for other bodily functions. 🔥🌀🔥
So, leave the leaves 😉 fresh and raw 🌱🌿 and add anything else warm/cooked. Roast your zucchini, tomatoes, peppers, add fried egg and roasted seeds. You can also add some leftovers such as baked carrot, pumpkin or beetroot...
Ingredients:
zucchini
cherry tomatoes
arugula/leaf salad
egg
fresh basil
flax seed (ground)
olive oil
salt pepper
Salad does not have to be a cold dish even in summer. Prepare the roasted zucchini in a pan and when it is slightly roasted, add the tomatoes cut in half for a while to get them soft and roasted as well. Mix with a leafy salad of your choice and serve with a fried egg and seeds.
